XYZ Outlet #11: Irini Karayannopoulou & XYSM Live | Tuesday May 17th, 2011 from 20.00 to 21.00, strictly | Perdika 8 & Achileos, Metaxourgeio
On Tuesday May 17th, we are presenting a live performance by Athens-based artist Irini Karayannopoulou and music band XYSM.
XYZ Outlet will be open to the public for one hour only, as always, between 20:00 and 21:00.
Can image become sonified? Can sound become visualised? Irini Karayannopoulou draws while XYSM play music. Sketches and sounds unravel, interweave, compete and collaborate with each other xenobiotically in a live performance primarily based on automatic writing, improvisation and DIY techniques. Music and the visual combine via the motor-tactile action of drawing - a symbiotic relationship emerges and media collide, bringing into question perception and coexistence. Who is following who?
A collective, hybrid experiment with an uncertain outcome.
